Schwellenmatteli Resturant - Riviera Bern

Dinner at this wonderful resturant is always an enjoyable experience. I have eaten here many times and each time is special but this time was more so than others. Why? Well the food, the service......................

Gotthelfstrasse Fest - Bern

Burning Wheels Tour - Bern

Skateboarding and breakdancing event in Bern

Exploring Bern by bike

Rather than walk too far we decided to cycle around. We went up the Gurten, yes by cable car, then cycled down, along the river Aare, through the zoo and back into the centre.

Ropetech - Bern

Bern is full of new and exciting things to do and not just for kids. Ropetech at Thuplatz in Bern is very accessible and great fun for all. My first time swinging through trees, climbing walls and feeling like a big kid again. Danny had no fear and was first up the wall, the ladders, the trees and first to zip through the trees on a steel cable.

Niederhorn again!

Another trip up to the top of Niederhorn for me but a first for Danny. We took the train to Thun, jumped on the ferry to the foot of Niederhorn and ascended to the top in the cable cars. Once again following in his Mum's footsteps.

Danny's in town!

My 13 year old nephew Danny has come to stay for a week so I have to plan an exciting agenda to keep him amused every day. Here he is at the Rose Garden in Bern, following in his Mum's footsteps... Prior to coming to Switzerland (which is his first time) he spent 1 week in Holland with Nephtalie. So he is enjoying his summer school break with a back to back holiday and jet setting from Gatwick airport in the UK to Schiphol in Amsterdam, back to Gatwick then on to Zurich, returning home on the 23rd. All very exciting for a 13 year old whilst there is a lot of extra security at the airports.

Life is strange!

It's a strange old day, meeting up with friends, talking...actually never ending talking, listening and not really doing anything special but enjoying the companionship of special people. A lot has happened this week, work of course, travel, meeting and catching up with friends, so everyday has some excitement and something new. I have learnt how to indulge the day and welcome each day as it comes, as I have no idea how the day will evolve and end, but hopefully all in a positive and rewarding way. I did not want to ramble on and on and I also did not want to write down everything that happened this week as I'm so far behind on capturing the events over the last few weeks that I have enough to do. So a big thanks to everyone I have spoken with, met up with and enjoyed time with this week, as you have all been my inspiration to write this blog.... PS Fifi now that you have installed msn instant messaging you can be more connected to the rest of the family, so distance and time becomes less important, just don't spam me all day!
